Opening Bitty Baby

P.S.  Hope to be back soon with photos of all our fall fun.

Alpacas!

For my birthday, we visited my parents so my mom and I could celebrate our birthdays together.  On Saturday afternoon, we went to get manicures and then that evening, we got all “fancy” and went out to dinner at Flannery’s in Mercersburg.  It was a wonderful meal and we all enjoyed dinner and dessert quite a lot.

On Sunday, we went to an open house at the Long Acres Alpaca Farm.  We learned about how the wool is spun into yarn and also got to see a few new baby alpacas – they were so cute.  Their mamas were very protective, so we couldn’t get close enough to take good photos of them.  They also had a fashion show featuring clothing made from alpaca yarn.

On my pillow.  A love note from Megan.  In case there was any question about which Mommy it was for.  I love that girl.

Patchwork Notebook Cover

Notebook Cover

Look, I sewed!  I received an assortment of charm squares about a year ago from a swap in a fabric group I belong to.  They’ve been sitting on my shelf waiting to be used.  When I found the patchy notebook cover pattern in my new 2011 Sewing Calendar, I knew they had found a use.  This is a cover, custom fit to one of those black & white composition notebooks.  I think I’m going to make up a couple for the girlies in regular fabric – and let them each pick what they want.
