Gingerbread House

The girls and I put together a gingerbread house from a kit tonight. They had a blast putting candy ALL over it. I didn’t have nearly as much fun trying to make the icing pretty but still enjoyed watching them decorate it. Molly kept sneaking pieces of candy into her mouth – Megan was actually pretty good about it. I let them each eat one of the cookies that came with it, since there weren’t places for all 4 of them. What a fun evening! Posted by Picasa

Molly's First Haircut

Molly got her first haircut today. She wasn’t in desperate need, but her whispy hair was getting a little out of control. I debated getting bangs, but the stylist advised against it, so we just did a quick trim all over. It looks so much healthier now and is much more manageable.

Molly behaved beautifully – no crying, no tears, not even a little worry about getting into the chair or putting on the cape. She did so well and I was so proud of her!

The photo on the top is before & the one on the bottom is after 🙂

Wheee! Snow!

It’s snowing outside, whee! I always feel like a kid when we get the first snow. I love snow and love playing in it. It’s supposed to rain & snow on and off all night, so I’m sure the yard & roads will be a lovely, soupy, wet mess tomorrow morning. But it sure is pretty. And I didn’t even know that they were calling for snow tonight – what a pleasant surprise!

Walk a block?

Whenever Molly wants to go for a walk around the block, which is about 1238789 times a day, she asks “Walk a block?” We have been going for lots of walks lately, since it’s been getting cold and the kids don’t get to go out and play for as much or as long outside lately. These pictures are from our walk today – they had a blast. Megan likes to sprint ahead then run back. She’s been stopping and tossing leaves in the air lately, pretending it’s snowing on her. Molly is such a trouper – walking along, all they way around the block, sometimes twice!

I love taking them for these walks – they might be picking at each other up to the minute we decide to go. But as soon as we start getting bundled, they are both happy and content. No more picking & fighting. No more squealing at each other. They play together, they walk together, they talk. It is so nice to enjoy this time with my girls.

Molly is 2!

Time really flies when you’re having fun. I can’t believe that Molly is 2 already! Seriously, it seems like just last week that I was pacing around the house, anxious and waiting to go into labor a week after my due date. But really, it was 2 years ago. Wow.

Molly is so sweet right now – not “terrible” by any stretch. She’s chattering up a storm and stringing words together into sentences. “I do it” is her absolute favorite phrase, and applies to nearly everything. She can jump like nobody’s business – and does, several times a day! She is brave, adventurous, and has no fear. She loves giving hugs and kisses.

She loves her big sister. “Mogen” she yells whenever she see Megan coming down from her nap. She has to give her a goodnight hug & kiss every night before bed. And several hugs per day. I so love seeing them love each other sometimes instead of fighting with each other.

And she just brightens every single day. When she wakes up in the morning, she yells “Mommy Daddy Mommy Daddy” so that we’ll come get her. She is so excited to see me, every day, when I come home from work. “Mommy’s home!” she yells as she comes running. I just love being greeted by someone who is so happy to see me.

I don’t know where my baby went, but I am so in love with this toddler I have found in her place.
