Sundresses

They had this neat-o pre-shirred fabric at Joann’s and I thought it would be fun to make the girls sundresses out of it. With Molly’s, I decided to make the skirt tiered, so that it would be more twirly. I think hers came out adorable.

I had planned to do the same with Megan’s, but she had other plans. She wanted me to make it straight, so I did. She also wanted her straps criss-crossed in the back, which I tried. Unfortunately, I think that just made it pucker. Also, the fabric I got for hers had a longer section shirred than Molly’s did. I think it is too long because it comes down over her belly and doesn’t lay very nicely. Maybe if they have it on sale sometime, I’ll try another one for Megan with the shorter fabric.

Riding Lessons

We took the girls over to the school parking lot near our house to practice riding their bikes. Megan rode a few times without her training wheels last year, so we wanted to see how it would go without them this year. She did ok, but she really needs to regain her confidence. She kept asking if we would put them back on so that it would be easier for her.

And Molly needs to learn to pedal – she gets frustrated because her trike is “not working” when she sits there with her feet on the pedals! Let’s just say it’s going to take a lot of practice for them both!

Swing!

Megan loves to swing…she always has. She can get so high that sometimes it scares me – and even more so when I think that she’ll probably be jumping off sometime soon! She just looks like she’s flying, so happy and carefree. Whee!

Gotcha!

Megan was just racing around the yard like a crazy person and kept saying, “Try to catch me, try to catch me.” She had so much energy to burn off and was having a blast just running around. I was thrilled to get such a great shot of her in all that madness – the joy on her face just brings a smile to mine!
