We traveled to Piggott, Arkansas on July 1 and 2 to visit Scott’s family over the 4th of July and his birthday. On Saturday, the 3rd, Piggott held their Independence Day celebrations. We went to the parade and then to ride carnival rides.
The girls had a good time watching the parade, but I think their favorite part was collecting all the candy being thrown out to the kids watching the parade. Their favorite parts of the parade seemed to be the tractors and the horses…that’s our little “country girls at heart”.
After watching the parade, we walked over to the fairgrounds to go on rides and get some lunch. The girls were so excited to go on the Merry-go-round. They also rode a dragon ride and a motorcycle ride where they just went around in a circle. They really had a blast on those, giggling and laughing.
After those, we went on the Tilt-a-Whirl (my favorite!) as a family. At first, the girls thought it was great – just giggling and laughing. After a few minutes, though, Molly decided she wasn’t enjoying herself so much. They kept the ride going for quite a while and by the end she was almost crying to get off. Scott and I agreed it was the longest Tilt-a-Whirl we’d ever been on!
All-in-all, we had a fun time at the festivities, but we were ready to go home for some lunch and air conditioning!
