<\/a><\/p>\nViewing the first mummy – above is the top of the sarcophagus, and below is the bottom of the sarcophagus still containing the mummy.<\/p>\n After the serious-ness of the Egyptian displays and the mummies and a windy lunch, we took the Septa underground train to the historic part of town.\u00a0 We wanted to see the Liberty Bell but there was a VERY long line, so we opted to just wander around and look at stuff, get some coffee\/snacks, and head home a little early.<\/p>\n Megan resting on the lawn near Independence Hall.<\/p>\n We visited the Christ Church Burial Ground where Ben Franklin and some other Declaration of Independence signers are buried. Here we are looking at Ben Franklin’s grave.<\/p>\n We rested by this statue in Independence Square.\u00a0 Apparently his name is Barry…that’s all it said on the base of his statue.\u00a0 The girls were amused by that.<\/p>\n We also visited Washington Square which has a memorial to the unknown soldiers of the Revolutionary War and an eternal flame in their honor.\u00a0 Megan was impressed by the number of soldiers who had died and were buried in that small space in the war for our Independence.<\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a> <\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a> <\/a><\/p>\n
